In 1978, Lars Wedinger started the upholstery shop "Dr VINYL AB" in Stockholm. A new era was born with the introduction of vinyl repairs to the Swedish market. The business grew as well as the interest to restore old cars. In early to mid-'80s Lars made several show cars; he made the owners’ dreams come true. Many veteran- vintage- and classic cars, motorbikes, Hot Rods, and muscle cars have been transformed by Lars.

In 1989 Lars decided to spread his wings and moved to New Zealand. He started out to work for Gulf Motor Bodies Ltd in Auckland. The firm was well known for its beautiful restoration of veteran and vintage cars. They had a huge workshop with different departments for woodwork, motor mechanics, panel beaters, paint shop and now also an upholstery shop. Very prestigious and impressive cars were built and restored there.

A year later Lars set up his own upholstery shop again. Now under the name "Mint Condition" and just north of Auckland. The list of cars made by Lars is long and impressive. Many British cars such as Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Lagonda, Morgan, Aston Martin, Lanchester, etc and American cars like Packards, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, etc. have been retrimmed in leather, new convertible hoods, carpets and so on.

The work Lars turned out was indeed noticed and spread by the motor press and car clubs. The waiting list grew longer by time.

So after 20 wonderful years in New Zealand, it was time for Lars to return to Sweden and in 2009 he bought an existing upholstery shop in central Stockholm; Tranebergs Bil & Batinredningar. The passion and interest in motor history remain and the spirit to restore old cars to their originality is obvious in Lars work.

A sideline throughout the years has been the manufacturing of Spring gaiters as they are easy to offer on mail-order. Orders from U.K. USA and Australia have been frequent.
